Hi everyone!
I am utterly grateful to be honored with the prestigious 21st Century Emily Dickinson Award! It’s my responsibilty to share it with all fo you.
My journey began with a focus on civil engineering. Enrolling in this program was a significant step in my education, but it was during the pandemic that I had the opportunity to explore other passions. This period of reflection allowed me to rediscover my love for fine arts, including painting and drawing, which became a significant part of my creative life.
While working as a content writer, I felt a deep yearning for a more profound way to express myself. Poetry became that outlet. It provided me with a new language to explore my emotions and thoughts. As I immersed myself in poetry, I began to see it as a powerful medium for self-expression and reflection.
In 2024, I took on a major challenge: the 21 Days Challenge. The goal was to write a poem every day for 21 days. It was an intense and exhilarating experience, and by the end of the challenge, I had written 71 poems. This burst of creativity culminated in the publication of my book, North Star.
North Star (2024) is a collection of poems that delves into the journey of self-discovery. The book reflects on themes of guidance and introspection, offering readers a way to navigate their own paths through its pages. The blend of simple yet profound English, combined with my illustrations, created a unique and resonant experience for many readers. Link: North Star
My involvement in poetry goes beyond my own publications. I contributed to several notable projects. In 2023, I was honored to be a part of Mysteries of the Midnight Garden, an anthology where I contributed 12 poems alongside 10 other talented authors. It was a wonderful opportunity to share my work with a wider audience. Link: Mysteries of the Midnight Garden
Additionally, I collaborated with German poet Dominique Rosenberg on In The End You Will Bloom (2023), where I provided illustrations and contributed to the prefaces. This collaboration continued with Head Heart Harmony (2024), where I again worked with Dominique, featuring illustrations and contributing to the preface. These collaborations allowed me to merge my artistic skills with poetry in a meaningful way.
